Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
For 20 years
we lived in the city and longed to be in the country.
In 2014, we sold our big city house with a little bit of land,
and moved to our small
country house with a bigger bit of land.
This is our very-happy-home-place.
We try to be wise stewards of the land and resources we have here. We have chickens and bees, and lots of fruit bearing trees and bushes -- some for eating and some for medicinal use. We are laid back, yet intentional.
You'll see lots of projects in practice or progress.
We use Rain Barrels for watering our animals and gardens; we are reclaiming wood to use for fencing and a sleeping quarters for goats; we use
Hugelkultur method for our garden beds, that provides ongoing
organic material, nutrients, and air pockets for the roots of what we plant.

Relaxing Rooster Ridge is clean and comfortable, in a serene setting. We have a small working farm just outside of Asheville, NC. We live simply and enjoy creating a memorable getaway for our guests.
Relaxing Rooster Ridge is a 1995, 5th wheel that has been updated. It has fully functioning appliances in the kitchen; a comfortable camper-queen bed (2 yr old mattress), a fold out double-bed-couch and a convertible dinette that makes a great bed for a child; WiFi and Roku; and a full bath.
For a price that is less than most campgrounds offer, you have a camper already set up with all the things you will need for a great mountain vacation. My favorite thing is the front deck. It is the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or to relax after enjoying s'mores around the fire. There are:
* Horse farms a few miles away if you want to schedule trail riding.
* Several spots along the French Broad that offer tube floats, kayaking and canoeing.
* Lots of swimming spots, hiking and picnicking nearby.
* All the shops, history, and funky stuff that Asheville is known for: Grove Park (12 miles), Biltmore Estate (11 miles), River Arts District (9 miles), Riverside Cemetery (10 miles).
* Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Cherokee and all that is wonderful to the west, is just a short drive in the other direction.

*** We have additional space for 1 or 2 additional tent available for $15/night/tent. Let us know that you want to do this when booking. These may be set up close to the fire pit or below the blueberry bushes. Tent campers would share the bathroom space with the folks in the camper.
